Named for James H. Baxter, the Lordsburg Civic Center is currently closed for renovations. The City of Lordsburg recently received a grant of $321,000.00 through Capital Outlay to do improvements.  The entire building will be renovated and will now include handicap accessible bathrooms for both men and women.  The carpet will be replaced with tile and the kitchen will be updated to include new cabinets and appliances.  It will also be updated to include Wi-Fi services, a speaker system and projector screen so that meetings can be conveniently held. The last day of operation will be June 8, 2016 and will not be opened again until the renovation is complete.  The price to rent this building will be determined  by the Mayor and his City Council before it is re-opened.
