A NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT ORDINANCE NO. 2025-04

An Imposition of Tax. This is imposed on any person engaging in business in this municipality, for the privilege of engaging in business in this municipality, an excise tax equal to one-fourth of one percent (0.25%) of the gross receipts reported or required to be reported by the person pursuant to the New Mexico Gross Receipts and Compensating Tax Act as it now exists or as it may be amended. The tax imposed under this ordinance is pursuant to the Municipal Local Option Gross Receipts and Compensating Taxes Act and the Local Economic Development Act as they now exist or as they may be amended and shall be known as the “Local Economic Development Act local option gross receipts tax.”

Consideration of final adoption of such proposed Ordinance will not take place until at least two (2) weeks subsequent to the date of this notice and only at a public meeting called and held in accordance with Section 3-17-3, NMSA 1978.  Consideration of said Ordinance is currently scheduled for and will not take place prior to August 20, 2025.
